FAQ's What documents do I need to rent a tuk tuk in Sri Lanka?

You’ll need a valid international driving license (IDP) We will take care to get your Sri Lankan tuk tuk permit from the Department of automobile association Sri Lanka (takes about 2-3 business days).

What’s included in the rental price?

Your rental includes unlimited kilometers, full insurance coverage, road assistance, a spare tire, phone holder, USB charger, and a travel essentials kit.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes, $100 refundable security deposit is required at the time of pickup. It’s fully refunded when you return the tuk tuk in good condition.

Can two people share the driving?

Absolutely! A second driver can be added — as long as both drivers have valid Sri Lankan licenses and are included on the rental agreement.

What type of fuel do tuk tuks use?

Most tuk tuks run on petrol (gasoline). They’re very fuel-efficient — typically around 25–35 km per liter!

How do I get my Sri Lankan driving permit?

We handle the entire process! You just provide a copy of your passport, your photo and IDP, and we take care of the rest.

Do you provide driving lessons?

Yes! We offer a comprehensive , practical driving lesson before you start your journey — so you feel confident navigating Sri Lankan roads.

Is driving in Sri Lanka difficult?

Not at all! Once you get used to left-hand driving and the local rhythm, it becomes part of the adventure. We’ll give you safety tips and route suggestions before you go.

Where can I pick up and drop off the tuk tuk?

We currently offer Free pickups in Kandy and Negombo. Drop-off at different locations is possible with one-way fee

What should I do if the tuk tuk breaks down?

You’re covered with 24/7 roadside assistance! Just call our support line, and we’ll guide you or send help right away.

What if I get a flat tire?

Each tuk tuk comes with a spare tire and jack. We’ll show you how to change it before you leave — or you can call us for help.

Are there any mileage limits?

Nope! Drive as far as you like — unlimited kilometers are included in every rental.

How can I pay for my rental?

We accept credit/debit cards, bank transfers, pre payment is necessary to confirm your booking.

Is insurance included?

Yes, all rentals come with comprehensive insurance — covering you, your passengers, and third parties. No hidden fees.

What happens if I damage the tuk tuk?


Our insurance covers most minor damages. You’re only responsible for a small excess amount, phone holder , charging port etc ( please check last page of the customer rental agreement) depending on the severity

Can I take the tuk tuk around the entire island?

Yes! You can explore freely across Sri Lanka. We’ll even help you plan your route if you’d like. We advise you to not to driver through water potholes and to keep the speed limit 40-45 to secure the technical condition of the tuktuk .
– Off road driving is strictly prohibited and not suitable with tuktuk , It may cause breakdown

Can I drive into national parks or off-road areas?
  •  Some national parks restrict private vehicles — please ask us before entering.
  • ⁠Off-road driving is not allowed with tuktuk
